You’re considered to be one of the most beautiful women in the world. How important is beauty for a woman?
I don’t know why beauty is attached only to women. I don’t believe it’s gender specific or even species specific. There’s truth in the oft used phrase, ‘Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder’. You’ve grown up reading it. Poets make even more wonderful ways of expressing that basic sentiment. You can see beauty in any and everything. It goes beyond the obvious. You don’t quite believe the compliments that come my way. You can graciously and in all humility say ‘a thank you’. But beyond that you can’t dwell upon it and make that the fulcrum of existence. All that is transient. What lies within is what actually stands the test of time. For me that’s been the definition of beauty. And if that’s the recognition coming my way then you’ve managed to do what you’re meant to do - that is touch people in some way. It is about the core, it is about what’s within. She may be known as the most beautiful woman in the world, but as an actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan does not want to be the centre of attraction in a film.

"I think I made that very obvious by choosing 'Iruvar' to begin my career with," she reportedly said to a daily. "I was making multiple statements by that first choice that said that here I was willing to work in subjects that is not just all about Aishwarya, even though that was going to be my first film as there were major expectations after winning Miss World. Box office collection: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's 'Sarbjit' beats 'Jazbaa' lifetime earnings record

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's latest film "Sarbjit" has shattered the records of her last film "Jazbaa" at the box office. "Sarbjit" took 10 days to break the lifetime box office collection record of "Jazbaa" in India.

The biographical drama, directed by Omung Kumar, had a slow start and it continued its slow run in India in its first week. Trade analysts expected that the new releases would affect the box office collection of "Sarbjit" in its second week, but instead the film dominated the box office.   Read more...

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Randeep Hooda were recently spotted partying with the team of their latest film "Sarbjit." They celebrated the success of the film, which has not impressed the audience as much as they had expected, and has performed average at the box office.

Despite the film being an average performer, Aishwarya, Randeep, Darshan Kumaar and director Omung Kumar attended the success party of "Sarbjit." Randeep looked dashing in his outfit, while Aishwarya donned a dull gold Sabyasachi suit at the bash.
