Here’s what Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s make-up for Cannes 2017 will look like
New! Aishwarya's look for this year's Cannes - L'Oreal

French girls are famously loyal to their insouciant beauty formula. But they might soon switch loyalties to make-up artist Subhash Vagal’s beauty interpretation of a refreshing weekend in Cannes on Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
Subash Vagal calls it Ombre en Pink, a tonal palette of roses, peaches and
plums. “Peach and pink are favoured colours for summer and they give a
natural-looking flush,” says the Bollywood make-up artist. He imagines
L’Oréal Paris ambassador Rai Bachchan enjoying a lazy day on the French Riviera, perhaps lounging at a quaint café. “Aishwarya is one of the very few who can carry off any look seamlessly. In this look, the pink lends a distinct contrast to her blue-green eyes.” But the lack of azure irises or balmy seascapes should not stop you from making the look your own. “These shades also work with just about every skin tone,” assures Vagal. He’s particularly fond of the rose-tinted highlights, which show up beautifully on deep, warm Indian skin tones.

BASE

After cleansing and hydrating her skin, Vagal used the Base Magique Primer to even out her skin and create a smooth base for her foundation to rest on.

EYES

To create her rose-rimmed eyes, he applied shade two from La Palette Nude in Rose all over the lid. He then used shade five from the same palette in the crease to add definition. Two coats of Volume Million Lashes were then added to her lashes to frame the eyes.

LIPS

For her my-lips-but-better finish, Vagal first filled them in with the Tint Caresse Powder Matte Lipstick in Sakura Blossom. Next, he dabbed the Rose Blossom shade from the same collection along the inner line of her lips, blending it outward to create a subtle ombre effect.

CHEEKS

The key to getting Aishwarya’s lit-from-within glow right is all in the cheeks. He first used the Lucent Magique Blush to contour and then dusted True Match Lumi Powder Glow Illuminator in Rose on her cheekbones to create a natural flush—like one set off by the setting sun.

HAIR

Echoing the light, airy flair of Aishwarya’s make-up, Vagal put her hair up in a messy up do, pulling it together in a loose knot at the back with a few free soft strands framing her face.

BRING TO LIGHT

To give your nose an instantly sculpted look, Vagal’s cheat is to draw a fine line right down the centre of your nose with a highlighter.
